First try for the brochure
As an “estimateur” of contemporary art, I was surprised not to know Michael Craig Martin. http://www.michaelcraigmartin.co.uk/
He is one of the best contemporary illustrator I’ve ever seen. Member of theYBA (young British Artists) with the equally famous Damien Hirst, he produces different kind of artworks; although he is recognizable for this kind of illustrations (sometimes on a huge scale, as you can see from the first picture above) where letters and objects come together:
What is impressive to me, is the freshness of the style characterized by bright and vivid colours.
The depicted objects, not immediately recognizable, are often outlines drawn by coloured lines. The objects’ lines are overlapped, sometimes even big letters are included to the paint. The result is something vibrant and lively.
Once again, the everyday object are elevated to art pieces as the famous Duchamp already did with his ready made.
